They were a good team, yes! It helped that Luz was feeling particularly more energized with Bakugo around again, remembering all too well how strong he'd been when he was here last. Back then, the strength difference between them were staggering in Bakugo's favor, specifically because he'd had so much time with his quirk and was a veteran of battles by comparison. In this instance, they were at least a little more evenly matched.

Luz reverted back, Luz choosing to sit on the ground a moment to recover.

"Well, my actual power was using magical glyphs. Turning into animals is actually a power I learned here, once I drank the potion. Over a period of months I went from only being able to turn into one animal to being able to turn into several! It just takes time to really master their strength, especially if they're cold blooded."
